Camping somewhere in Spanish Fork Canyon

Here are a few pictures from the camp out. Not too many though because we got there late and left early. It was real cold at night, but still pretty fun. I tried to get some pictures of the stars because you could see them real good back there..but they didn't turn out good.

A couple of pictures of the sun coming up. I would wake up, take a picture, and then try to sleep a little bit longer.

Lake Blanche

I went hiking up to Lake Blanche. Lake Blanche is about 4 miles in Big Cottonwood Canyon (which is just south of Salt Lake City). This hike was pretty cool because I was back surrounded by mountains, not just hiking up looking out over valley.


Here is a creek you cross over right when you start out.





This was a little plaque toward the beginning of the hike. It was right next to a bench looking out over the creek. Thought it was kind of cool.




Here is another bridge you cross to go over the creek. It was pretty cool with the water iced over and water going under it.

Brooke keeps asking if I have built a snowman yet. So I decided to build her one up on the mountain.







I know am getting close when I see Sundial Peak poking up over the hill.

First to Second Hamongog hike

Had big things planned for this hike. We rented snow shoes to try and make it up the Lake Hardy, but bad weather made the plans change.


Down where we started it looked like someone built a tepee





Heading up there were a few clouds, but nothing too bad.




I called dad from First Hemongog asking to check the weather because I was starting to get a little more cloudy. He said it looked fine so we kept going. Make it up to Second Hemongog and the weather was getting worse. I call dad again and he says things still look fine on the radar....... I don't think it looks fine.








I named him Rock Man.
