I went hiking up to Lake Blanche. Lake Blanche is about 4 miles in Big Cottonwood Canyon (which is just south of Salt Lake City). This hike was pretty cool because I was back surrounded by mountains, not just hiking up looking out over valley.
Here is a creek you cross over right when you start out.
This was a little plaque toward the beginning of the hike. It was right next to a bench looking out over the creek. Thought it was kind of cool.
Here is another bridge you cross to go over the creek. It was pretty cool with the water iced over and water going under it.
Zoomed in a little on the water.
Video of cool area up the creek a little where the water is flowing under the ice.
Picture of up where I am heading. (It combo of 4 pictures stacked as 1)
Picture of where I just came from. (It is another combo of 4 pictures stacked as 1)
Thought this one was pretty cool.
Looking up the trail.
These next two are of where the water iced over on the side of the mountains. I these looked cool as well.
Brooke keeps asking if I have built a snowman yet. So I decided to build her one up on the mountain.
I know am getting close when I see Sundial Peak poking up over the hill.
Finally get up to Lake Blanche and looking back where I just came from.
The Lake is frozen and snowed over.
Another shot of the frozen snowed over lake.
Sundial Peak.
Me.
Panoramic shot of up around Lake Blanche.
A couple of videos. They are almost the same. The first is closer to Lake Blanche other is back and up a hill looking out over the valley.
Looking over the mountain out at the Salt Lake Valley.
Some Macro shots.
I liked this one because you can see the mountain in the background.
These next few are of the sun going down behind the mountain on the way back.
