This was my first official test of my camera..so there are a few pictures. I went through and cut out about half of the pictures I took, but there were a lot I liked so there are some that look kind of the same.
[ all of them are here: http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t92/muttley1211/first%20mini%20hike/ ]
I drove up to the top of the Traverse Mountain development, parked, and hiked up to the first little hill.
I saw 4 groups of deer. First group was about 15 and they went up over the hill to the north. Looked over and saw another group of about 10 to the south on another hill. Hiked up a little further and went up on a hill and saw another group of around 5. Last last group may have been the first group I saw (might have circled back around the hill). I saw the last froup as I was leaving.
I almost caught it mid jump....that would have been a good picture.
I was testing out my macro feature. I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I kept them both. One has a better background, but the other has better detail.
That church was up at the very top of the hill.... that was my after hike photo.

the drive out...
Heading through Chattanooga..
Between Chattanooga and Nashville I saw two dead things on the side of the road. One was either a a monkey or baby bigfoot and the other was possibly a mountain lion. More than likely they were a dog and deer.....but I still like my guesses, haha
Downtown Nashville...
Kentucky Dam bridge...
Not much happened in Illinois. I did see the best lisense plate of the trip. "Dubya 1"...haha, why would you put that as your liscense plate?
St. Louis was pretty cool...
The road we were on had a detour. We accidentally turning into a park, but the was a cool outdoor skating rink and a nice bonfire set up next to it.
Somewhere in Missouri.
Kansas.......just terrible. I only have this accurate drawing I did while cruising through
We finally reach Colorado! We [read as mom] couldn't get a picture of the state signs..... and we finally got one when we reached Colorado. So we had to make it special
We finally decided to stop for a few hours of sleep outside of Denver at a truck stop after driving for about 20 hours (Alpharetta > Denver only stopping for gas a few times)
The Great Denver Cheeto Explosion of 2009!
The bag of Cheetos couldn't handle the increase of elevation heading out of Denver. It got really full of air. I wanted to see if it could pop by itself, so I put it back behind my seat to see if it could happen. I forgot about it and about 20 minutes later it popped by itself and startled me pretty good.
Going through the Colorado Rockies
FINALLY!! We get to Utah.
the final couple hours of the trip from Richfield to Alpine were pesky..
